It is one of the largest cities in the Central Savannah River Area and makes up a good portion of the Augusta-Richmond County Metro Statistical Area. Aiken is a great place to live, receiving the National Civic League’s All-America City Award and also serving as home to the University of South Carolina at Aiken.

Aiken is home to a variety of great attractions and things to do. There are a variety of equestrian events and related attractions found in this community, including the Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and Museum, the Aiken Training Track, Almost Heaven Stables, and the Black Forest Equestrian Center, among many others. Energy efficient climate control systems are crucial for living comfortably in Aiken throughout the year, as weather conditions will vary. Many people are attracted to this region during the winter, as conditions tend to be mild, but a furnace or heat pump is still a necessity. Nighttime lows can fall to the freezing point, and without a heating system in place, pipes and plumbing could freeze. Additionally, climate controls are crucial during the hot and humid months, and an air conditioning unit that has been properly serviced by an HVAC professional can even save residents money on their utility costs.
