Since Barnwell is part of a humid subtropical climate zone and experiences four distinct seasons throughout the year, climate control systems are essential. Summers are hot and humid, and while most days will feature temperatures in the 90s, some days can even surpass 100 degrees. These conditions can be extremely dangerous, so an energy efficient central air conditioning unit is a necessity to stay safe. Likewise, winter weather can be cold, with nighttime lows falling below the freezing point, so it is crucial that residents also invest in a heat pump or furnace to use during these chilly months.
