About Williston, SC - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Williston, SC is a Barnwell County, SC town with approximately 3,100 residents. It is found along the Charleston-Hamburg Railroad Line in the eastern portion of the state, and it consists of nine square miles of total area. There are three schools located here, and older students will complete their secondary education at Williston-Elko High School. The most notable resident of this small community was NFL player Rafael Bush of the New Orleans Saints.
As a small town, Williston isn’t home to any major attractions, but there are some businesses located here that could be of interest to both visitors and residents. There are several floral shops, including Louse’s Florist and Gift Shop and the Blossom Shop. Old Parsonage Antiques is a great place to find some old furniture pieces, and gardeners might like to visit Adam’s Nursery and Landscaping. Larger attractions are located in nearby Aiken, including the Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and Museum, the Reserve Club at Woodside Plantation, and the Aiken County Farmers Market.
Williston and the rest of the region is part of a humid subtropical climate zone, so it is important that residents have access to both home heating and cooling systems. A central air conditioning unit is especially important, as summers are very hot and humid. There are approximately 80+ days per season in which temperatures exceed 90 degrees, and some days even surpass 100 degrees. Without a central air conditioning unit in place, dangerous weather conditions could exist.
Winters in Williston are short and mild, with over 50 nights per year seeing temperatures that fall to the freezing mark or lower. While snow isn’t common in the area, that doesn’t mean that dangerous conditions won’t exist. A heat pump or furnace is a necessity to keep interior temperatures comfortable and safe during the coldest times of the year.
